My adventures across the world Geocaching
---- SPOILER WARNING ----

Cache #13 - Kingston upon Thames

Been out for a few pints in Kingston with my mate Dave from uni tonight. The conversation eventually went onto geocaching which led to us doing a search and finding one by the river 503m away.

Took a stroll down to the river to search for the cache, it was in a pitch-black park with many metal signs around so finding it took some time. I even considered quitting, but we found it in the end. I didn’t have a pen so couldn’t sign the log book, but oh well I’m still going to count it!

I didn’t have my hat either! Anyway it has been a good evening.

I would really like to buy a decent camera soon, this could have turned out nice with longer exposure.

Thats 12 now, getting there!!

Cache #12 - Morden Park - Pitch n Putt course

I used to play Pitch n putt here when I was younger. Theres a small group of bushes and trees right in the middle of the course. We went just after sunset so it required my torch to find it. The cache itself was very well hidden and had a camoflauged box which made it even harder!

This is the contents, excuse the brightness! Including a golf ball which made me laugh.

Quite obviously I had to take the Mario. It was one of those plastic designs that you do yourself and then iron the plastic to melt the shape together. We replaced it with Puss in Boots!

Signed.

Cache #10/11 - Cannon Hill Common more woodland

I’ll combine these into one post as they were pretty close to each other.

Pretty proud of this sunset photo!

Small lunch box cache hiding between the trunks. Lots of treasures inside!

After loggin this on the website we noticed that the person who had last been there that day had to dropped off the rubber boot which we took and swapped with a smiley frog!

The next cache was just under a leaning Oak Tree.

Cheers Dukes! We left a little blue car inside.

Cache #9 - Cannon Hill Common River

We realised now that we were being followed by other geocachers. A family with kids so we had to speed up! We ended up rushing so much that Muggles came as we were taking photos and so they look blurred!

The coordinates pointed into the middle of the river! Although the clue was “no need to get your feet wet!”. Anyway you can just about see me holding it. It was a long tube with a magnet inside the end of the post. Certainly long fingers were needed to hook it out!

Some ducks being fed bread!

A bit further upstream the river had a thin layer of ice!

Looking over the river was this bench with memorial flowers, obviously a favourite spot for somebody!

Cache #8 - Cannon Hill Common Big Logs

Emerging from the woods revealed the grassy common. The cache was around here.

Pretty easy find. Can you guess where it was hidden in the below picture?

Cache #7 - Cannon Hill Common Bench

This was another easy one hidden underneath a bench, but we had to come back to it at the end aswell because there was a couple sitting on it kissing first time. I didn’t want to rudely interupt.

On the way there I found a Dummy hanging on a twig. I thought it was quite artistic so took a picture. I was thinking of photoshopping it with a red sky and a firey woods.

Then just around the corner there was a load of logs stood up to make like a teepee shape. Dukes ran straight inside and had a good look!

Cache #6 - Cannon Hill Common

We found seven today! Six of them on Cannon hill common. We took Dukes for a walk, he used to hate me and bark at me all the time but now he’s nice!

This is Dukes looking for the cache, unfortunatly it was up higher than that, nice easy find with a swan toy wedged in it!

We did have to come back to this one as there were Muggles about!!

Cache #5 - Sir Josephs Hood path

This cache was not too far from the previous one. Infact was along a pathway behind the tree’s in the horse picture during cache #4.

“Behind a small Ivy covered tree, infront of a large tree”

This didn’t take much more than a minute to find, it was hidden under some bark, which I am holding. You can see the distance off-track the cache was from the muggles. Very muddy and cut myself on thorns again, also scratched my coat on some barb wire to keep the horses in!

Me signing and reading the log-book.

Bawnanable signing and drawing silly faces.

This small cache contained a small shiney green peg, a strange plastic bead, a party blower and a blue hand with a smiley face on! This time we made our first swap! We took the blue hand because it is cool and left a Scooby Doo McDonalds toy that filled 3/4 of the box, the lid just manages to shut. I’d love to see the face of the person who is greeted by Scooby.

All in all another good walk, about 4-5km. Nearly gotten all of the local caches now. I’ll have to make longer planned journeys from now on.

Peace,

Cache #4 - Stables (Free Manure!)

This was my first chance to go out during the daytime since my caching adventures started. We bought some chips and onion rings at the local chippy for the journey! Best onion rings ever! Our journey to the stables took us through a park with hundreds of seagulls in. My brother had to stir them up and throw a bloody chip!! The one blackbird managed to get it though, totally owned them gulls!

Continuing on we got to the next park which contains many horses. My brother met a nice horse called Gypsy! Well that is what it said on his coat, maybe he’s just an actual Gypo.

We walked up the path you see in the picture above and around to the white building you see on the upper left, the stables.

The cache was a pretty easy find, the clue was just a description of where it was, nothing fancy.

This was a small cache, with many small toys in it. There was a description of what the cache started with, such as a Dr. Who bookmark and smiley face magnet etc.. Everything overtime had been replaced with the object in the picture below.

Car, lamb, piggy rubber, Gnome from Shrek, a couple of pink balls and a bright orange Gel pen which we had to use to sign the book because it was awesome!

Onto the next one!
